North norwegian summer sunrise - about 2am in the morning

yes, the quality of this photo is terrible. It is many years old and shot with some bad digital camera but the view is pretty nice so I feel like sharing it. This is Bodø seen from the island Landegode and it is the midnightsun that makes the sky pink:)

My real home which is now so far away. This is the view I grew up with, the view who got me in to photography, the view of Landegode in the midnight sun - Bodø, Norway.

Where I come from, the north of Norway (Bodø, Nordland) we have something called the midnightsun in summertime. This means that the sun never goes under the horizon, for about 2 months It keeps shining 24/7. (This is because I live above the polar circle.. ) Somewhere between 11pm - 2am the sun almost touch the horizon, but only to turn and start rising again. And yeah, you do get a little bit time-confused during this period. - This is an old picture from a bbq we had down at the beach some years ago, and the picture is taken around 11pm in the evening. I love the midningtsun, just too bad we have no sun at all during 2-3 months at wintertime.
